Co-Founder

HEIKE HADDENBROCK

Heike has been teaching German for over 16 years and has served as principal of the German Language School Cleveland and the German School of Dallas since 2011. While serving on the board of the GLSC (German Language School Conference) for 11 years (2011 to 2022), she actively advocated for the needs and challenges of the German language school community in the US. As a co-founder of Forum Deutsch, it is her mission to continue to strengthen German language education and further the collaboration between language schools.

 

DARIAN NECKERMANN

Darian is a business woman with an outgoing, social personality and a successful track record in event planning, marketing, fundraising, and organizational development. As a board member of the German Saturday School Boston and the GLSC (German Language School Conference), she used her expertise and conceptual thinking skills to promote and preserve the German language and culture in the US. Her book “Hier ist dort ganz anders” reflects her deep interest in cross cultural understanding and offers an interesting account of her personal observations and insights on a life between Heimat and Home.

KATHERINE DOYLE

Katherine studied German for 11 years and has been actively involved in promoting German language education as a former GLSC (German Language School Conference) board member. She specializes in web design, and digital projects.

As the creator of the Forum Deutsch website, and holding a degree in Business Digital Marketing, Katherine is proud to bring her expertise to Forum Deutsch and its community beyond all things digital.

 

Arndt Haddenbrock

Arndt Haddenbrock is a German native. After pursuing an MBA at Vanderbilt University, Arndt became a successful executive at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. before founding his own business in 2023. Arndt also taught at the German Language School Cleveland, and, along with his wife Heike, raised their daughter bilingually, emphasizing the importance of the German language. Supporting the German language community remains a passion of his to this day. Arndt will be serving Forum Deutsch as Treasurer.

 

It is Del’s firm belief that “Wir müssen alle an einem Strang ziehen.“

Del Hausman

Del taught all levels of high school German before becoming the director of curriculum and instruction in a suburban Philadelphia school district. He has also taught German and school administration courses on the university level as well as English at a German Gymnasium. He has been a longtime consultant to the College Board for AP German. While serving on the board of trustees of the GLSC, his focus was on collaboration with the AATG and the College Board. He is currently the principal of the Immanuel German School/Deutsche Sprachschule Philadelphia and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsche Gesellschaft von Pennsylvania.

 

Karl Pfeiffer

Karl, a native of Germany, is a credentialed secondary and vocational school teacher, an ATA-certified (English>German) translator and an AATG Life Member. After graduating from the University of Tübingen, Germany, with a degree in Physics and Theology (Staatsexamen), he has held teaching positions for German with the Goethe-Institut in Chicago and Houston as well as Pepperdine University. From 2000-2018, Karl served multiple terms as president of the German School of the East Bay (Oakland, CA), and as president and treasurer of the German-American School Association of Northern California (GASANC), and has been teaching DSD classes since 2006.

 

Marje Zschiesche-Stock has long-standing experience in a variety of institutional and classroom settings, teaching German language and culture at all levels and age groups.

She has been training German language teachers across the globe, providing supports for them to succeed in digital learning environments and to utilize cutting-edge methodologies in their second-language teaching. Marje holds an M.Ed.(Staatsexamen) in German and English from the University of Goettingen. As founding director of Das Deutschteam, she has provided training to high school teachers and university instructors in Canada and the USA. She is also a certified Goethe Institut teachers’ trainer(DLL) as well as a certified Goethe Institut examiner and instructor on all language levels. Her approach to teaching languages is decidedly communicative and guided by the conviction that the language classroom of the 21st century thrives on fusing the best of both in-person and digital learning environments.
