Creating Pathways to Germany with DAAD
We greatly value our partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which helps create new pathways for our members and their students to connect with Germany, explore educational opportunities, and deepen their engagement with the German language and culture.
What is the DAAD?
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is one of the world’s leading organizations supporting international academic and educational exchange. The DAAD connects Germany with partners around the world through scholarships, study and research opportunities, and programs that support international exchange.
For our members, the partnership with DAAD means greater access to information, resources, and connections to Germany. It can help students and educators discover opportunities that extend their German-language experience beyond the classroom.
For students, these opportunities can become especially relevant as they move into higher education. Examples include summer courses in Germany, study and research opportunities, internships, and scholarships. DAAD also provides information and guidance for U.S. students interested in pursuing undergraduate studies in Germany.
The partnership also supports teachers and school leaders by connecting them with broader educational networks and resources and creating opportunities for professional exchange.
Most importantly, the DAAD helps us show students where their German language skills can take them. As part of our partnership for example, Forum Deutsch and DAAD host a joint information session about studying in Germany, giving students and families an opportunity to learn more about German universities, study options, and the possibilities available to them. The language skills and cultural connections developed in our member schools can become a foundation for future study, international experiences, and professional opportunities.
